EVE, OUR ENLIGHTENED FRIEND
DEAR EVE, WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I am from Reunion Island, I am the 4th of a family of 5 girls. My mother was French from France, la Bretagne and my dad was a creole from Reunion Island. I left reunion island and my family at an early age. It all triggered one morning as my dad dropped me to school. As far as I can remember I have always wanted to be a surgeon sans frontier, travelling through Africa with a truck and a piano, healing people. This has been the first quest of my life! Life gave me the opportunity to live my dream. At the age of 12, I heard about Professor Christian Barnard, a south african who was the first to do a heart transplantation. I set my mind to go there to study medicine. My parents had never been to SA (was still under apartheid), so they disagreed. It took me a year to convince them. As I have always been an excellent student at school, I decided to pressurize my parent by not working, except for English… hard game for my parents, as my three older sisters didn’t get to their matric. Convinced by my determination, one year later I was in a plane to boarding school in Natal, Hilton…I was 13. I got my matric in SA. As apartheid was over, I couldn’t do medicine as no immigrants were allowed in this field in SA. I started a bachelor of science in the University of Cape town, but my passion for medicine was too strong. I then went to France to study, but didn’t adapt to the French system of teaching so I dropped my childhood dream… I got a law degree in Reunion, then a master of management in hospitality industry and tourism in France, Dordogne. I finally got a job as manager in the IT communication which led me to Mauritius.
THAT’S INTERESTING! WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE SOME IMPORTANT MILESTONES WITH US?
My life is an accumulation of important milestones, experiences and expansion. The birth of my son Noha had a great impact. I was an eternal student; he urged me to start working. But mostly he taught me to love! Another important milestone is my meeting with my current husband, Jean Philippe. He also taught me to love and allowed me a space to evolve and pursue my soul life journey. He is truly my soul mate.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO OUR SUNNY ISLAND?
I arrived to Mauritius in 2006 as a single mother of a 3 year old son. I was the general manager of 300 Mauritians in Ebene. What a great experience! I worked 2 years in the IT business… My life was working.! And one day following a trip to the holy town Rishikesh in India, I experienced a mind shift… I quit my job and started to study my SELF, through Ayurveda ( the indian holistic system of medicine), Yoga Therapy, Energy, Healing, yoga and encounters with self realized masters ... The starting point of my study of yoga was at the Indira Gandhi center in Phoenix and my soul journey through a shivir (spiritual workshop) with the self-realized master Advhoot Babagie of Shivyog in Mauritius ! There is definitely a special energy in Mauritius. Through my journey, I even opened a vegetarian restaurant in Black river for a year. Today, I am so proud to be Mauritian as Mauritius through my husband, gave me roots to allow my spiritual evolution and BE what I AM.
YOU’RE REMINDING US OF ‘EAT, PRAY, LOVE’ RIGHT NOW, WHAT DO YOU DO IN MAURITIUS?
I am currently an holistic energy therapist and Master in Ayurveda and Yoga. As a holistic therapist; I give healing session allowing the releasing of emotional blockages, clearing chakras… Hard to explain, I am a soul surgeon. My child dream ! As a yoga therapist, I give Healing yoga classes in Black river, Grand Baie at the yoga house, Curepipe at domaine des Aubineaux and phoenix at Equilibre. The Yoga session is the expression of one’s soul journey. My work involves a lot of breathing and meditation as tools to move our energy and heal. I also do workshop through healing with love and life, on different themes such as the art of forgiveness, the power of the heart, Breathing, cleansing the aura… It is an opportunity to share to a larger audience. Healing with love and light can be followed through Facebook. For all queries, I am available on following email : chouquette@orange.mu and 57106209
WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF HAPPINESS / YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTES / SAYINGS?
Since the death of both my parents and my mauritian mother two years ago, I understand deeply that nothing has real value unless it is shared. So all my knowledge, my experiences, my healing abilities, my SELF exist to share, inspire, heal others on all level. My favorite quote : We are limitless beings, creators and masters of your own happiness and life.
DO YOU HAVE ANY CLOSING COMMENTS OR OTHER INFO YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?
