THE LIFE OF ANTOINE

CHER ANTOINE, WHICH COUNTRY ARE YOU FROM?

33 years old, 2 brothers (twins, 29 years old living in Paris).  From Paris but I spent several years in Marseille and Aix en Provence (South of France, one of my favorite
regions). After 5 years studies to obtain my engineering diploma (ESTACA, France with last year spent in Finland), I studied one year at Aix en Provence (France)
to obtain a Masters in Business Administration.

My father was not really often at home because he used to work in tourism, he is a very funny person, able to entertain everybody during any event. His mother (my grand-mother) was Spanish and I’m fond of this culture. I would like to have an
olive oil farm and a breed of fighting bulls in Andalusia. My mother was in charge of my whole education and has taught me values such as respect, hard work, strong friendship, honesty and modesty. She dedicated her life to us (my 2 brothers and I) and is the best person I’ve ever met. Today I’m the perfect mix of their two characters and I love it!

HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED ANY LIFE CHANGING EVENT?

Yes, My child, Syanne who was born on the 6th of June 2014 (2 months old). I’m very happy to offer her the opportunity to grow up in Mauritius at least until her main studies. Her arrival has changed my way of thinking. I’m quite a Cartesian person who tries not to let too much destiny drive my life but I am aware that if I
really want to work on this cause I need to share a reasonable amount of time with her. I hope she will get a smooth character and will be able to live life as it comes.

HOW ABOUT YOUR STUDIES?

I used to study automotive engineering to become a motorist engineer in formula one. I had the opportunity to meet the motorist engineer of Renault Sport for an internship (It was for me a kind of dream).

After one hour of meeting I was convinced that I should not make my passion become my work. I decided to change my way of studying and to learn
Business administration because I wanted to have the possibility to choose a full scope of work in the future. I have an old sportive car (Porsche 911, 1972) in France and love to ride this beauty during spring on the “route du vin” from our property in Champagne to the south of France. Today I’m fond of cars and mechanics but I don’t work on it.

AND THE MILLION EURO QUESTION IS – HOW DID YOU LAND IN MAURITIUS?

After my studies I started working for Deloitte & Touch in France. My last mission was for Outremer Telecom.  Target: Refund credit management processes on their call center in Mauritius. After a 6 month mission they asked me to stay. It was a really difficult decision to take because I already knew what I love in Mauritius but I knew that I was going to miss France. On the first of August 2008 I landed in Mauritus and never left again.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR JOB.

I have my own company, BURO230 at Ebène. It’s a 3 years old company specialized in bad debt collection for the European market. My agents use a
specific software to call and follow debtors (mainly in France). I spent 10 years working on working capital improvement and during my journey in Mauritius, it was evident that I should try to open my own company.

WHAT ARE YOUR PASSIONS?

I’m definitely passionate about old sports cars and mechanics.

But I also love sports in general. I’m also responsible for the administration of Beach Tennis in Mauritius. We organize 12 tournaments each year on the Island (5 funs tournaments and 7 official graded tournaments) and want Beach Tennis Mauritius to become an unforgettable platform of Beach tennis in the world.

DO YOU HAVE ANY CLOSING COMMENTS OR OTHER INFO YOU WOULD LIKE TO
SHARE?

I would like to put emphasis on our next beach tennis tournament from the 25fth to 26th of October at Long Beach.
