Symptoms of RSV infection are similar to other respiratory infections like coughing, sneezing, stuffy or runny nose, mild sore throat, fever, loss of appetite, possible wheezing and trouble sleeping. In very young infants, the only symotoms may be irritability, decreased activity, and breathing difficulties. RSV can be prevented by covering your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow, washing your hands frequently and correctly (with soap and water for 15-20 seconds), avoid sharing cups and eating utensils with others, use a disinfectant to clean hard surfaces that many people touch and where germs can live (such as doorknobs, counters, telephones, remote controls, keyboards, etc).
