To transform your holidays a renewing wellness experience contact Taamra’s Wellness consultant or spa team members who will guide you with treatments and programs. Bespoke or custom made spa programs either to Relax, Pamper, Detox , Rejuvenate or specific programs for health issues, can be created just for you.  Genuine smiles marked my welcome into Taamra spa that day. I was hurrying inside because I was 5 minutes late for my treatment but for some reason, this place didn’t allow for the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I was instantly calmed down by the smell of the aromatic
oils and the wooden set up. I realized I was here for more than a treatment but a life lesson. As I left my mundane
troubles at the door, I embraced the hospitality of the spa. I sat down and accepted a heart warming drink of ginger and this marked the beginning of an unforgettable experience.

I was there to try the signature treatment called Eternal Bliss which consisted of a full body massage. My designated spa therapist led the way to the spa treatment room which was softly lit up and opened onto a veranda facing a zen indoor garden. Perhaps it was the soulful music playing, or the sweet scent pervading the place, I cannot remember what it was but the spa was extremely charming and inviting. I very easily let go of myself as the therapist asked me to sit on the veranda for an initial foot bath ritual which was followed by a very blissful foot massage! She firstly asked me to dip my foot into some hot water vessel. In the meantime she used some salts to scrub my other foot. After the gentle scrub on my feet and warm water rinse, I was presented with a choice of 3 essential oils – Eucalyptus, Jasmine or vanilla. I chose vanilla which was as light as the feeling invading me. The vanilla oil was smeared on my foot and using some reflexology techniques, the therapist lightly rubbed and used pressure points for my utter relief. I felt that the back pain and lack of sleep was slowly giving way to an unusual relief. Pure reflexology does not use oils for
treatment but I was later told by the spa manager that the signature massage of Le Méridien is unique as it combines different massaging techniques such as Thai, Balinese and Reflexology. I was getting the benefits of all those techniques in one massage! After the foot massage I changed into the bare minimum to allow the therapist to start the full body massage. I lied down flat on my chest as she started applying gentle pressure to massage the back of my body. Slow rotating strokes deepened depending on the amount of work the area needed or the knots caused by some bad
sitting posture. Elated and relieved I fell asleep as the therapist was curing my body and restoring my muscles.

I was then awakened to lie on my back while she proceeded with the same procedure on the front of my body. It struck me when she massaged my belly as she told me she was draining all the toxins by using circular motions. The end of the massage was the head massage which was the cherry on the cake. I was in total relaxation mode when she finished. She did not rush me out but instead allowed me to take my time and dress up taking all the time I needed.  I was walking on clouds! Gravity had lost all its pull on me as I felt as light as a feather. I have had many massages done before but for some reason, the Eternal Bliss massage was exceptional. The choice of combination of techniques and the warmth of the welcome added to this unique experience. Dr Shaji, the spa director and ayurvedic doctor has a long standing international experience working in different spas and he told us that he follows the diets of clients and how they feel through email even after they have left Mauritius. What the Taamra spa masters over other spas is the genuine interest in each and every client that comes in.

Monthly and yearly fitness membership programs are, Including access to hydrotherapy rooms (sauna, hammam, jaccuzi) combined with utilization of resorts facilities at preferred rates available for local residents.
