Britney Spears is being sued for $10m (£6.2m) by the company that helped her to secure a perfume deal, according to reports.
In what appears to be a legal document obtained by the site, the company intends to sue Spears and her father Jamie on five grounds including breach of contract, fraud and deceit and declaratory relief.
The documents further accuse Spears and her father of "blatant circumvention of their contractual obligations," arguing that a contract agreed in 2004 with Elizabeth Arden promised Brand Sense 35% commission on any fragrance products sold. The agreement was apparently amended a year later to promise the company commission on any product produced under the contract.
Brand Sense then alleges that Spears breached the contract in early 2010 by apparently entering into a new agreement with the cosmetics firm without informing them. The firm also argues that the singer allegedly contacted Elizabeth Arden early last year to request that all royalties were sent directly to her.
The legal document, which was filed at the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles, also includes a request for a jury trial.
Representatives for Spears and her father have not yet commented on the claims
