Brilliant summer sun dappled the pack of humans, canines and felines that filled the red-carpet premiere of "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, July 25. But the brightest glow of the day came from Christina Applegate's big smile.
The actress voices the "cool cat" Catherine in the kiddy flick, but that wasn't what was making her grin. No, it was something much more important that was causing the 38-year-old actress and breast-cancer survivor beam so happily, and that was showing off her baby bump to the world. She and fiancé Martyn Lenoble of Porno for Pyros fame announced last week that they are expecting their first child, and judging by her expanding waistline, she is well along in her pregnancy.
And that expanded stomach is causing a whole new world of concern for the usually chic actress, as she mentioned on Twitter just before heading out to the celebration, writing that she was, "About to get ready for the Cats and Dogs dealio. All is well except that I don't know how to dress this belly yet. So big black shirt it is."
Other members of the film cast mugged it up on the red carpet, as Paul Rodriguez and Michael Clarke Duncan joked around with a fire hydrant prop, Chris O'Donnell posed with some real-life pooches and Joe Pantoliano hammed it up with a scary-looking hairless cat. Jack McBrayer, Kiernan Shipka and James Marsden rounded out the happy cast on hand.
