So we have made it to 2010!! And what an interesting year 2009 has been. So much happening in the world, so much uncertainty, yet here we still are. We humans will simple persist into making it year after year. This month we discover horse riding. It’s so easy with little instruction and yet so much fun. At the same time you will help rescue other horses. Clive Barnes features in our Lifestyle article this month. A dedicated headmaster and educator with over thirty five years of experience. We have all had headmasters…. So what’s it like to be one? And finally, if you are planning to stay in Mauritius for a little longer and maybe settle here, have a look at our RES section where Emerald Heights can give you that dream. Whatever you plan to do, Islandinfo would like to wish everyone a successful, prosperous and fun 2010.
Christmas in a nice warm country is a bit strange at first, having dinner outside in the sunlight, perhaps wearing shorts and a t-shirt, but Christmas is one of the most important holidays of the year and you can enjoy yourself so much more when the weather is nice. Good weather isn't something that bothers rugby players very much though, and our Lifestyle section features Cabous van der Westhuizen who played for the Natal Sharks and the Springbok back in the '90s. His rugby career is over, but he is still very active in the community. The Domaine des 7 Vallées is one of three Discovery articles this month and is a very interesting place with so much to do that I will not even attempt to outline all the activities here, so be sure to read the article and check the rest of the magazine for other things to do and places to go. Where ever you are and whatever you do, have a very merry Christmas and a fantastic new year!
