The Celebrity Cricket League is back and it's bigger, starrier and sexier than ever before. The curtain raiser of the second edition of CCL saw over hundred of the most sought-after matinee idols from all over the country turning up to make their presence felt.
It was literally raining stars at the HICC on Monday night as the likes of Salman Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Boney Kapoor, Sohail Khan, Sharth Kumar, Radhika, Suniel Shetty, Sridevi, Venkatesh, Sudeep, Diganth, Vishal, Shriya Saran, Jeet, Lakshmi Rai, Priyamani, Sanjjanaa, Aindrita Ray, Charmee, Sameera Reddy, Genelia, Ambareesh and Bharath turned up in their respective team jerseys.
Sonu Nigam and Neha Dhupia played the perfect hosts for the night, entertaining the crowd with their smart repartees. The event began with a scintillating dance performance by Shriya Saran, who grooved to a medley of popular Telugu and Tamil numbers, setting the stage for the ramp walk by reigning champions, Chennai Rhinos, lead by Vishal.
The ramp act was followed by a stand-up show by Kapil Sharma who had the audience in splits. Then it was the turn of the new entrants to the fold -Boney Kapoor and Sridevi, the owners of The Bengal Tigers team - to present their team, lead by Bengali superstar Jeet.
More dance shows by the likes of Lakshmi Rai and Richa Gangopadhyay followed as one team after another walked the ramp. Singer Shaan's rendition of the theme song along with guitarist Gaurav had the crowd cheering. The best was saved for the last as Salman Khan walked in, sending the energy levels soaring. The event came to a close with the launch of the 2012 calendar, featuring the hottest leading ladies from the six film industries.
