Discover the wild aspect foMauritius, sheltered fromman-made things and found in an exceptional site. Found in the village of Bananes, 3 km away from Midlands and behind some sugar cane fields, it offers stunning views of Mauritius. Rivers, waterfalls, deer, monkeys, wild boars and birds have made this virgin forest their home. With a surface area ofmore than 500 acres including Mountain Lagrave and the Riven Eau Bleu, the domain is 100% natural. Fans of outdoor activities will love Domaine de Lagrave. Between climbing mountains and trekking in the wild, fishing, walks along the lake and treasure hunts, you will surely find something pleasing to do! Similar to the Domaine des 7 Vallees in Vacoas, the Domaine de Lagrave remains small despite a vast variety of flora and fauna. Once the heights of the domaine are reached, visitors will have access to breathtaking sceneries of the waterfalls and hidden rivers. The Mauritian Government was only able to preserve this natural beauty thanks to the tropical climate. You will be able to witness what Mauritius looked like when it was untouched. This is very rare to find on the island, if not completely unique and very different from the resort holidays associated with the holidaying image of the island. The domaine invites its visitors to organise events such as weddings and receptions or even corporate events in the Mauritian Case Creole. Event organisers find that the domaine is ideal for team building activities. Nature lovers looking for authentic local cuisine will be doubly pleased to visite the "Table d'hotes” of the domain. The most recent addition to the domaine is the great trail for moutain bikes which is recognized internationally and run by a previously World Champion named Gilbert Queland. It's the very first trail opened on the island. It is almost 5 km long and has been made to welcome international championships such as the World Cup or Commonwealth Games. Some shortcuts have also been added for amateurs or debutants to enjoy and make the most of mountain biking after removing technical difficulties. The start of the trail is at the case creole of the domaine and fans can opt for different trails depending on their level of experience in mountain biking. I will never forget the first time I visited the domaine. I was much younger but the natural setting remain engraved in my memory. We strongly recommend a visit. Find out more on
